Nosy
Iranja
PARADISE…THE WORD EVERYONE USES TO DESCRIBE THIS ISLAND.
Composed of two islands, Big Iranja & Small Iranja, connected by a stretch of white beach that disappears as the tide rises. All island attractions you expect and can’t even think of can be found here.
With walking trails either though the forest or on the blinding white beaches, this island offers a different scenic view at every turn. If you want it all in one shot you can access a 360 ° panoramic view at the peak of the island where an old aesthetic lighthouse stands, that was constructed over a 100 years ago.
Do yourself a favour and spend the night. How does a cocktail at sunset sound? Or a nightcap under the open night sky with the milky-way surrounding you?
After having a drink and traditional Malagasy dinner you will be able to go on a night walk and have the opportunity to watch sea turtles come out the waters and lay their eggs. Or if you’re lucky, watch the baby turtles hatch!
In an article published 17 November 2020, Vogue magazine compiled a list of “the most beautiful secret islands to travel to this winter”, where Nosy Iranja is listed.
